The Allotment Secretary telephoned me on Tuesday 28 July 2026 asking if I would be interested in taking a tenancy for half-an-allotment. She explained that the current owner, who is 90 years, wanted to downsize his 90ft allotment. We arranged to meet at the allotment gates at midday. Within a few hours I became the proud owner of a half-sized allotment garden.
